Indian actress Bhagyashri Borse, who rose to fame with the Telugu film, Mr. Bachchan, is currently hogging the limelight for her newly released film, Lenin. She has been receiving wider acclaim for her role, ‘Bharathi’, in the Akhil Akkineni starrer, Lenin. In a recent interview, Bhagyashri shared that while she may be gaining popularity now, she had humble beginnings and had a modest upbringing.

Recently, the Lenin actress made a starry appearance on the talk show, Honest Townhall. During the show, Bhagyashri got candid about her humble beginnings. The Mr. Bachchan actress mentioned that after she was born, she saw a different side of life. She mentioned that there was no stability in her family. Explaining her modest upbringing, Bhagyashri Borse said:
“I’ve seen a very different side of life the day I was born. My family, my parents, are from a lower middle-class background. I’ve never seen stability the way we see it these days. I’ve always seen things go wrong with them. I’ve always seen them fighting to do the right thing for their children and consistently not giving up. Because we come from zero. As a child, you don’t even know what money is. Growing up, you don’t know how important money is. All you care about is food, playing around outside, and chilling. You see your parents struggle and work really hard for you.”

Further in the conversation, Bhagyashri recalled a time when her father requested someone for work so that he could look after his family. The Lenin actress shared that from that day she made up her mind and made sure that her father’s head is held high always. In her words:
“I’ve seen my dad request someone, ‘Please give me a job. I have two daughters.’ As a small baby, you don’t want to see your father talk like that. In my head, the only thing was that this is not going to happen to my father ever again. I need to grow up and make sure his head is held this high always. It’s sad, but it’s been an inspiration to go forward in life. Whatever ambition there is inside, it’s for parents.”

on 6 May, 1999 in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Her family relocated to Lagos, Nigeria during her schooling. At the time in Lagos, Nigeria, Bhagyashri faced bullying due to her distinct accent. Later, she relocated to India and began a career in modelling. Along with modelling, she was also pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in management studies. She began her acting career with cameos in two Bollywood films, Yaariyan 2 and Kartik Aaryan-starrer Chandu Champion.

Bhagyashri got her breakthrough as the lead actress in Harish Shankar’s 2024 Telugu action romance, Mr. Bachchan, opposite Ravi Teja. Later, she appeared in Vijay Deverakonda’s film, Kingdom, Dulquer Salman’s film, Kaantha and . Bhagyashri’s latest offering, Lenin, is grabbing a lot of attention. Speaking about her character, Bhagyashri said:
“In ‘Lenin,’ I play Bharathi, a mischievous girl who holds her ground when the situation demands it. She is as independent-minded as her male counterpart.”
Bhagyashri will be next seen in the film, Seyon. Speaking about her character, Bhagyashri shared that she cannot reveal anything as her role is an integral part of the film. She is sharing screen space with Sivakarthikeyan in the upcoming Tamil action-drama film, Seyon. Bhagyashri added that the audience would see her in a different light in both Lenin and Seyon.
