India have been forced into two injury-enforced squad changes ahead of the ODI series against England and the T20I tour of Zimbabwe, with the BCCI naming Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi as replacements.
Fast bowler Prince Yadav has replaced Harshit Rana in the ODI squad after the latter sustained a Grade 1 right hamstring injury during the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has come in for Varun Chakaravarthy, who suffered a Grade 2 left hamstring injury and will miss the Zimbabwe T20I series.
Prince earned the selectors’ backing after an impressive IPL 2026 campaign for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and a promising showing in the recently concluded T20I series against England despite India’s defeat.
In a statement, the BCCI said: “Rana reported a sudden onset of discomfort in his right hamstring during the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge. Subsequent scans revealed a Grade 1 hamstring injury.”
On Chakaravarthy, the board added: “An MRI scan subsequently revealed a Grade 2 hamstring injury. Based on specialist medical advice, he has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe.”
Both players will report to the BCCI Centre of Excellence for further assessment and rehabilitation.
