Anupam further said that he believes the moment one decides to become everyone’s favourite, people start using them according to their own convenience. “You start speaking more of what others want to hear, and somewhere along the way, you lose yourself. I have a philosophy in life: first, try to become your own favourite,” wrote the Kashmir Files actor.

He said that one should be able to look at themselves in the mirror and feel that they were a good person, and if they did not feel that way, they should change themselves – not for the world, but for their own growth. He added that neither he nor others had taken the responsibility of keeping the entire world happy.
