Disha Patani On How She Landed Her Hollywood Debut Film: You Can’t Sit Here And Crack Roles

Disha Patani is all set to take a huge step in her career with her Hollywood debut, Holiguards Saga – The Portal of Force. As the actress prepares to make her international big-screen debut, she has opened up about the realities of breaking into Hollywood, revealing that the journey is far more complex than simply being talented. Speaking candidly about auditions, representation and the importance of being physically present in the West, Disha explained why aspiring actors cannot expect to land international projects while staying in India.

Speaking to Variety India, Disha Patani reflected on her journey into Hollywood and the challenges actors face while trying to establish themselves in the international market. The actress, who will next be seen in  , said many people assume that talent alone is enough to secure projects abroad. However, according to her, the process involves several practical factors, including representation, auditions, accessibility and legal formalities.

“A lot depends on accessibility. The West focuses heavily on audition templates. You have to audition for things. It depends on how accessible that is for you and who you are signed with,” Disha said. She added that destiny also plays a role. Calling the process ‘very technical,’ Disha added that sometimes, previous work gets you projects and auditions and a lot depends on the visa and other logistics.

The actress further explained that aspiring actors hoping to work in Hollywood need to spend time there instead of expecting opportunities to come to them. She said, “It is a different country at the end of the day. But you will have to be present. You can’t sit here and crack roles there.” concluded by saying that auditions can be done from India, but it is best to go abroad and stay for a bit to land a role.

Her Hollywood debut comes with Holiguards Saga – The Portal of Force, a supernatural action thriller slated for release in 2026. Directed by Kevin Spacey and written by Sergey Torchilin and Lado Okhotnikov, the film boasts an international ensemble cast featuring Kevin Spacey, Dolph Lundgren, Tyrese Gibson, Brianna Hildebrand, Disha Patani and Eric Roberts.

The film serves as the first installment in the Statiguards vs. Holiguards franchise and is set in a futuristic world where two ancient factions, the Holiguards and the Statiguards, secretly battle for humanity’s survival. The story follows a young woman who discovers she is the daughter of rival leaders from the two opposing groups. As tensions escalate, a powerful Statiguard plots to attack Paris and unleash an entity known as the Prime, setting the stage for a high-stakes supernatural conflict.
