Petition filed over alleged illegal screenings of Satluj

Advocate Vineet Jindal has filed a petition before the Punjab and Haryana High Court, seeking action against those allegedly organising illegal public screenings of the  in Punjab and Jammu.

Sharing a copy of the petition on X (formerly Twitter), Jindal said he had moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking action against individuals, religious organisations and political parties allegedly involved in organising illegal public screenings of Satluj. He alleged that these screenings were being used “to promote violence and spread hatred against a community as well as the security agencies.”

He further claimed that the alleged screenings posed “a serious threat to peace, public order, and communal harmony” in Punjab. The petition seeks directions to prevent such screenings and ensure those responsible are proceeded against in accordance with the law.
