VinFast entered the Indian electric vehicle space with two SUVs – the VinFast VF 6 and VinFast VF 7, both developed with a focus on modern technology, practicality and evolving consumer expectations. As the Indian EV market grows rapidly, manufacturers are increasingly tailoring their products to suit local conditions such as road quality, climate and usage patterns. With the VF6 and VF7, VinFast aims to offer electric SUVs that combine global design with features relevant for Indian buyers.
The VF6 is positioned as a compact electric SUV that prioritises everyday usability and efficiency. With power outputs of up to 204 HP and 310 Nm in higher trims, it offers performance suited for both city driving and highway travel. The model also focuses on comfort and convenience with features such as a panoramic glass roof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control and a digital-first cabin layout centred around a large infotainment display. Advanced driver assistance systems are also included, reflecting the increasing demand for safety and driver-support technologies in the segment.
Sitting above it in the lineup, the VF7 takes a more premium and performance-oriented approach. The SUV features a distinctive exterior design highlighted by VinFast’s signature ‘V Face’ lighting signature, sculpted body lines and larger alloy wheels. Powertrain options include battery packs offering a claimed range of up to around 438 km, while the more powerful variants deliver outputs of up to 350 HP and 500 Nm. Combined with a higher ground clearance and a spacious cabin, the VF7 is positioned as a more feature-rich electric SUV aimed at buyers seeking stronger performance and a higher level of equipment.
Beyond the vehicles themselves, VinFast’s approach also focuses on the broader ownership experience. The VF6 and VF7 are supported by extended warranty coverage, free maintenance for an initial period and charging benefits aimed at easing the transition to electric mobility. As VinFast expands its presence in India through local manufacturing and dealership networks, the VF6 and VF7 represent the brand’s first steps in introducing electric SUVs designed to meet the needs of Indian roads and customers.
