Medansh Goyal, Krishna Kundu, Aarav Arora and Alankrita Sharma emerged joint leaders with 5.5 points each after six rounds of the ongoing International FIDE Rating Chess Tournament at LA-VEERAZ Chess Hall, Khara Madana.
Alankrita Sharma impressed with a series of brilliant performances to join the leading pack after the sixth round.
A total of 157 players from six states are participating in the eight-round tournament, which is being organized by the Jammu District Chess Association under the aegis of the All J&K Chess Association and the All India Chess Federation (AICF). The event offers players an opportunity to achieve or improve their FIDE ratings based on their performances.
FIDE Arbiter Bindu Pathania is officiating as the Chief Arbiter, while Arvindu, Nirmal Sharma, Ritish, Mansha Mahajan and Stuti Gupta are serving as Deputy Arbiters. The tournament is being held under the supervision of All J&K Chess Association president Meenal Gupta.
