She mentioned that on May 4, 2026, she underwent surgery for the endometriosis, which had unfortunately progressed massively. Sumona thanked her doctors for taking good care of her. Sumona added that in the last two months, she was healing mentally and physically. She wrote:
Sumona mentioned in her post that she is sharing this update not for promotion or sympathy but because this experience brought a massive change in perspective towards life. Sumona explained that earlier she wanted to delete social media, but later she realised it was not a practical move. Explaining it further, Sumona wrote:
In the same note, Sumona expressed her wish to work till her last breath. The Bade Achhe Lagte Hain actress also mentioned that over the years, she managed to keep her life private and would like to continue doing it. However, if something personal like her battle with endometriosis, she would like to speak about it. Sumona stated that at 38, she realised that growing older is not something to fear but a privilege. She wrote:
