Dr. Raman Singh mentioned these things while addressing the subject of ‘mother of democracy’ at the All India Speaker Conference in New Delhi today.

Addressing the All India Speaker Conference, Assembly Speaker Dr. Singh said that in democracy, panchayat works as a living unit. The disputes were resolved by discussion through collective decisions in panchayats. This tradition of Panchayati Raj is still the back of democracy. He said that the Constituent Assembly formed in the year 1946 is an unique example of democracy.
