New Delhi: The shares of Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Power hit lower circuit on August 25, 2025, Monday as investors adopted a cautious approach amid the recent action by the CBI on Reliance Communications.
Notably, the investors’ sentiments got hit even as RPower and Reliance Infrastructure assured that the central probe agency’s action had no impact on their business operations, financial performance, shareholders, employees, or any other stakeholders.
Reliance Power share tumbled 4.99 per cent to hit the lower circuit of Rs 46.49 on the BSE, while Reliance Infra stock went down 4.99 per cent to Rs 275.05. Reliance Communications’ share price declined 4.86 per cent to hit the lower circuit level of Rs 1.76.
CBI searches at Anil Ambani’s residence
The officials informed that CBI conducted a search at the residence of Reliance Communications Ltd (RCOM) Director Anil Ambani in Mumbai on August 23 after filing a case over the alleged defrauding of State Bank of India of Rs 2,929.05 crore.
The CBI personnel conducted searches at the official premises of Reliance Communications and residential premises of Anil D Ambani.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of Anil Ambani denied all the allegations and said that the Reliance Group head will duly defend himself.
In order to regain shareholders’ confidence, Reliance Power and Reliance Infrastructure released separate statements saying that the recent action by CBI on Reliance Communications has had no impact on the business operations.
The two companies filed two separate exchange filings, mentioning that they are separate and independent listed entities with no business or financial linkage to Reliance Communications.
