The price hikes on fuels and cars might have affected sales in the entry-level segment. But on the flip side, the overall luxury segment has seen significant growth. And very few brands are enjoying growth. In the upcoming time, we expect a Japanese automaker to enter this space. No, we are not talking about the Toyota, which already has its luxury offerings like the LC300 and Vellfire. We are talking about the Nissan and the much-anticipated Nissan Patrol. Here is everything you need to know about this big, powerful and capable SUV-
Looks-

Nissan has been selling the Patrol in international markets for years now. And the SUV is known for its sheer road presence. By no means is this a compact SUV, with about 5.18 meters in length, 2 meters in width, and standing tall at about 1.95 meters. We expect Nissan to bring in the latest generation of the Patrol in India, which features a modern boxy silhouette. At the front, it gets the large V-motion grille and C-shaped LED headlights with adaptive lighting. While the upright design continues through the front end. To the side, Patrol gets muscular arches with large alloy wheels. To the rear, as with other modern SUVs, the Nissan Patrol is expected to feature a full-width LED light bar, vertically stacked tail lamps, and a sculpted tailgate.
Interiors & Features-

When you step inside, you are greeted by a practical yet feature-rich cabin. The feature-loaded cabin is expected to get a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, powered and ventilated seats, massaging seats, wireless charging, dual-screen setup with wireless connectivity, dual rear-seat entertainment option, and much more. As a larger SUV, the Nissan Patrol is expected to come with advanced safety and driver-assistance features, including ADAS and a 360-degree camera. Will there be a large Diesel engine?
Powertrain-

Under the hood, this SUV is powered by the legendary GT-R-inspired engine. With the launch, we can expect the 3.5-litre V6 twin-turbo petrol engine. Despite being the V6, this engine produces more power than the older V8. The 3.5-litre V6, which could make its way to the Indian market alongside the Nissan Petrol, produces about 425bhp and 700Nm of torque. And to deliver all this power, it is to be paired with a 9-speed TC gearbox. How can we not mention the 4WD configuration? The Patrol continues to offer multiple terrain modes, electronic locking differentials, and advanced off-road technologies, ensuring that it remains as capable on challenging terrain as it is comfortable on highways. The switch from V8 to V6 is not just to increase power; it could also add a bit of mileage to a car of this massive size. What else?
Rivals-
With the India launch, the direct rival to the Nissan Patrol will be the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. While the other rivals remain the Lexus LX and the Land Rover Defender 130.
Expected Launch & Pricing-
Nissan India is yet to officially speak on the launch of the Patrol in India. However, the automaker is making its comeback after years, and the Tekton is right around the corner. That being said, Nissan is expected to bring in the CBU Patrol units by early 2027. Being CBU, the Nissan Patrol definitely isn’t gonna be any cheaper. The Nissan Patrol could be priced between Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 3 crore (on-road, Mumbai). Would you consider this over the other luxury offering at the given price?
