Akhil Akkineni’s revelation: Glass injury changed everything

As the release of “Lenin” draws near, Akhil Akkineni has finally addressed the question fans have been asking for months: Why did it take him so long to return to the big screen?

In a recent interview, the actor revealed that an unexpected accident, just a few months after the release of “Agent”, forced him to stay away from work for more than a year.

Akhil disclosed that he slipped on a wet bathroom floor and landed on a piece of glass, which severely injured his left hand.

“It happened about four months after ‘Agent’ released. The glass cut through my vein and nerve. It was a freak accident that completely shook me. I had to undergo two surgeries on my left hand,” he said.

The recovery proved to be a lengthy one. Akhil explained that he was unable to lift weights or resume physical training for nearly eight months and needed around 16 months before he could fully recover and get back to the gym.

The revelation has surprised many fans, especially those who had questioned the long gap between “Agent” and his upcoming film “Lenin”, which is set to hit theaters on July 10, 2026.
