After the big defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance is fiercely attacking the Election Commission. MVA’s constituent Congress is continuously raising questions on the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). Meanwhile, on Friday, Congress leader and MLC Bhai Jagtap has given a controversial statement on the Election Commission. After which all the opposition parties including Shiv Sena (Shinde), BJP have expressed strong opposition to Jagtap’s statement and demanded an apology. However, the Congress leader has refused to ask for a measurement.
On his controversial statement to the Election Commission, Congress leader Bhai Jagtap said that I will not apologize at all, not even an iota. If the Commission is working under the pressure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other ministers then what I said is correct. I will not apologize. He said that the Election Commission is there to further strengthen the democracy of the country and not to serve anyone. I stand by what I said. Election Commission to T.N. Should work like balance.

Strict action should be taken against brother Jagtap
On Bhai Jagtap’s objectionable statement, Shiv Sena leader Deepak Kesarkar said that the Election Commission of India is a constitutional authority. He should take strict action against Bhai Jagtap. He should apologize for making such a statement. On its objectionable statement, RLM National President Upendra Kushwaha said that he says all this out of frustration over his defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Senior Congress leaders should take cognizance of this. It is unfortunate that this kind of language is being used in politics.
