Team India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami has not been able to be a part of Team India for the last 1 year. He was injured during the ODI World Cup 2023. Shami had undergone surgery in February 2024 due to ankle injury. In such a situation, he had recently returned to the field from Ranji Trophy and now he is playing in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. Amidst this tournament, a bad news has come out for Shami’s fans. Shami was seen groaning in pain during the match played between Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. After which the medical team had to examine him in the middle of the field.
Mohammed Shami is in bad condition due to pain
Mohammed Shami got injured during Bengal’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh at Niranjan Shah Stadium Ground C on Friday. Actually, during this match, he looked in a lot of pain due to back injury. He felt back problems while bowling. He fell down while bowling, after which Shami felt uncomfortable and lay down on the ground holding his lower back. Which increased everyone’s heartbeat.
Seeing Mohammed Shami in pain, the medical team of the Center of Excellence examined him, during which Nitin Patel, head of the medical panel of the Center of Excellence, was also present on the field. However, after a short treatment, Shami bowled again and completed his over. According to media reports, Shami might have suffered a slight shock when he fell, but it did not cause any serious injury. In such a situation, he will be seen playing in the tournament further also.
Entry possible in Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Team India is currently on a tour of Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Indian selectors have given place to 18 players in the team for this tour. But experienced fast bowler Mohammed Shami is not a part of this team. He was troubled by injury since last season and was not fit till the announcement of the team. According to media reports, Shami can be included in Team India during this series. For which the medical team of the Center of Excellence is keeping an eye on him.
