A shocking case of rape has come to light from Purnia district of Bihar. Here an accused first raped a minor girl and later his family asked the victim girl’s family to hush up the matter by giving them money. The victim’s family has filed a complaint with the police and demanded the arrest of the accused. At the same time, the police have registered the complaint of the victim and started taking further action.
An incident of rape of a minor girl (17) has come to light from Khutti Dhunaili area of Srinagar police station area of Purnia district. To suppress the matter, the accused party gave Rs 2,000 to the victim’s family and instructed them to remain silent. After not getting justice in the Panchayat, the victim’s family members have filed a complaint with the Mahila Police Station requesting justice. The victim’s family says that the accused’s family has driven her away from Purnia. The victim’s father says that the accused parties are powerful, due to which they are scared.
sexually abused for 1 year
The victim told that she was having an affair with the accused Niranjan Kumar for the last 2 years. Seeing her alone at home, the young man first raped her and then continued sexually abusing her for a year after promising her marriage. The girl told that whenever she talked about marrying Niranjan, he used to postpone the matter. The victim’s father told that he works as a laborer outside. When I came to the village a month ago, the whole matter came to light.
Accused party advised to remain silent
To rectify this matter, it was decided to marry both of them. When a Panchayat was held with 10 people of the society regarding this matter, the boy’s father Arun Mahato refused the marriage. At the same time, after paying Rs 2,000, the girl got treated and advised her to remain silent. The victim’s father told that the boy’s father is powerful, hence even the Panchayat people could not say anything, on the contrary the Panchayat also asked to end the matter.
Complaint lodged in women’s police station
After which the family applied to the police station, but no action was taken by the police station. Then the family filed an application in Mahila Police Station, Purnia, pleading for justice. As soon as the boy’s family came to know about the complaint being filed, they deported the accused boy to another state. The girl says that if the boy agrees to marry her, she will forget everything and withdraw her complaint. The family members are now worried about the girl’s life.
