A horrific bus accident has occurred in Gondia, Maharashtra. 9 people have died in this accident. The condition of some of the injured is very serious. The death toll is likely to increase. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced immediate assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the victims of the accident. The reason behind the incident is said to be that the bus went out of control while trying to save the bike.
Actually, while trying to save the bike near Khajri village on Gondia-Kohmara State Highway, the Shivshahi bus went out of control and overturned. When the bus overturned, some people got buried under it, due to which they died on the spot. There was an outcry at the spot after the accident, which occurred between 12 noon and 12:30 pm on Friday.
How did the accident happen?
The bus that overturned in the accident belonged to Maharashtra Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). This bus was going from Bhandara towards Gondia via Sakoli Lakhani. The number of this bus is stated as MH 09 EM 1273. There was a turning road in front of the bus and suddenly a bike came from the front. While trying to save the bike driver, the bus driver cut the vehicle, due to which the bus went out of control and overturned.
There were more than 5 passengers in the bus
At the time of the accident, there were more than 35 passengers in the bus, out of which 9 have died. The death toll may also increase. According to eyewitnesses, the bus driver fled from the spot after the accident. On information from passersby, ambulance and police officers reached the spot. He admitted the injured to Gondia District Government Hospital (KTS) for treatment. The help of a crane was taken to lift the bus which was involved in the accident and it was removed from there. At present the police is busy investigating the matter.
