Abhishek is presently seen winning hearts for his performance in the recently released film I Want To Talk directed by Shoojit Sircar. Recently, the filmmaker Shoojit Sircar shared an anecdote about Abhishek Bachchan’s emotional connection to his role and said how he showcased his own experiences as a father. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan on YouTube, Shoojit discussed the making of I Want To Talk. He even said that the film focused on the father-daughter bond that struck a personal chord with him.
Abhishek is a father to a 13-year-old Aaradhya. Shoojit said, ‘There are many scenes where he became emotional because meri bhi betiyaan hain, uski bhi beti hai. Kahin na kahin woh reflect karega na uske kaam mein.’ He revealed that during emotional scenes with Abhishek’s on-screen daughter, the actor thought about parting ways with his real daughter Aaradhya.
The filmmaker, who is a father to two daughters revealed how he felt moved by the story. In the film, Abhishek plays the role of Arjun Sen, a father who is suffering from a life-threatening illness. The story is based on true events and Shoojit said, ‘I know sometimes he won’t tell me, but I know he was affected by it’. I Want To Talk was released on November 22, 2024 and featured Ahilya Bamroo, Johny Lever, and Pearl Dey in important roles.
The film has underperformed at the box office and it managed to earn Rs 1.20 crore in its first five days, as per Pinkvilla. Abhishek and Aishwarya are currently in the limelight after the two separately attended Anant Ambani’s wedding. Abhishek later also liked an Instagram post discussing about grey divorces. Neither Abhishek, nor the Bachchan family wished Aishwarya. Moreover, pictures from Aaradhya’s birthday bash went viral and her father and the entire family was missing from the event.
