Delhi: Engineer was working near the metro station, suddenly the elevator rope broke… death on the spot

An accident took place near Haiderpur metro station in Delhi, in which a 31-year-old senior mechanical engineer working there died, while a foreman (supervisor) was injured. Police gave information about this accident on Friday. He told that the incident happened due to breaking of the rope of the elevator machine. According to the police, this incident is said to have happened on November 20.

Actually, engineer Patna resident Aditya Prakash and foreman Mohammad Sahib were inside the elevator machine during the incident, due to which the engineer died and the foreman got injured in the accident. Both were working on behalf of KEC Company. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has given the contract for the work to KEC. Police have registered a case at Mahendra Park police station in connection with the incident. There has been no reaction from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on this matter.

Earlier the accident happened in Patna

Earlier recently, a major accident had taken place during the construction of metro in Patna. There too, two laborers had to lose their lives due to the machine breaking down. Actually, the brake of the loco machine had failed in the under construction metro tunnel, after which not only two workers died, but five more workers were also injured. This accident happened at around 10 o’clock in the night. The reason for this accident was also said to be a fault in the machine.

One died on the spot

In the Patna accident, goods were being transported inside the tunnel. Then the brake of the loco machine failed. After the brakes failed, the loco machine ran over the workers. In this accident, a laborer died instantly on the spot. There were 6 injured, who were taken to the hospital for treatment. Another laborer died in the hospital.
