The results of the by-elections held on two assembly seats of Madhya Pradesh, Budhni and Vijaypur, have started coming out. In the initial trends, Congress has given a huge blow to BJP. Congress is leading in the initial trends in Budhni assembly seat, which is the stronghold of former Chief Minister and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. If we talk about Vijaypur Assembly seat of Sheopur district, then Minister Ramniwas Rawat is trailing from here.

- In Budhni Assembly, Congress candidate Rajkumar Patel is leading by 5600 votes till 9 am.

Counting is to be held in Budhni in 13 rounds. The result is expected here by 1 pm. In this by-election, 20 candidates were in the fray from Budhni assembly seat. The main contest is between former BJP MP Ramakant Bhargava and Congress’s Rajkumar Patel. Budhni seat had become vacant due to the resignation of Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan after being elected as MP.

Budhni is included in high profile seat
Budhni Assembly seat is one of the high profile seats of Madhya Pradesh, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has been MLA from this seat 5 times, Shivraj resigned after winning the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and becoming an MP. Then this seat became vacant. In his place, the party has fielded his close aide Ramakant Bhargava.
