Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna shot for their recently released romantic comedy, Cocktail 2, at real locations. Sicily being the main destination, they filmed key sequences in Delhi as well. The team of the film faced various obstacles, including unhealthy AQI in the capital of India. A line producer on Cocktail 2, named Sumit Tyagi, spoke about Shahid not being willing to shoot outdoors in Delhi without air purifiers. In a recent interview with a YouTuber, he called Kapoor ‘manmauji’ (free-spirited) while narrating an incident that created such a perception about him.
Shahid Kapoor refused to step outdoors for shoot amid poor AQI in Delhi
On the YouTube channel, The Shivam Podcast, Sumit recalled being told that would not shoot outdoors, considering the AQI was poor. The production team had to get five to six air purifiers for him, which were best suited for indoors, but the shoot was outdoors. The shoot location was Cyber City, Gurugram.

Sumit said air purifiers were one of those useless things that were bought at the last minute. “This was for Shahid, so we can’t call them useless. Because Shahid had said that I won’t get out of the van. He would just take off the mask before the shot; otherwise, he had a mask on the entire time,” he shared before adding, “We were shooting in Cyber City. How can an help there? It is all open.”
Tyagi said while Shahid wasn’t wrong in demanding air purifiers, it was never going to be a solution during outdoor shoots. “So you don’t get hurt that your demands have not been met and production has tried its best,” he said.

Highlighting Shahid’s ‘temperamental’ behaviour, Sumit claimed that the actor is the ‘kind of person who believes ‘I won’t think much about you, and you don’t think much about me. Even if you are thinking, I won’t think about you’.
Even in the past, Shahid’s on-set demands came under the spotlight when Kiara Advani, his co-star in Kabir Singh, shared on Koffee With Karan that she had to wait for eight hours because the actor was deciding what shoes to wear in the next scene.
