Actor Shruti Haasan reacted to a social media user who questioned her about whether her role in ‘Coolie’ as a damsel in distress was unfair.
The actor stated that it’s all about the vision of the director.
During an Ask Me Anything session on Instagram, Shruti got a question that read, “Don’t you think Preethi’s portrayal as a damsel in distress is unfair?”. The actor responded to the same and wrote, “She was in distress and it’s someone else’s vision. Not about fair or unfair (sic).”

“But I did connect with certain aspects of her. I believe many women will relate to those parts, and that’s what I really liked about the character. Preeti is extremely responsible, extremely focused, and quite inspiring,” she added.
