EV Road Tax Exemption: Just imagine that you are buying a new electric vehicle (EV), and you do not have to pay road tax or registration fees. Who wouldn’t want to take such a concession? Telangana has announced to give this concession to its people. The state government has waived off registration fees and road tax on purchasing EV. This is a big step by the Telangana government to promote electric vehicles.

Telangana’s new EV policy
According to the agency, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that under Government Order 41, the new EV policy will be implemented from Monday (November 18). The state government has decided to provide 100 percent exemption in road tax and registration fees for electric vehicles for an initial period of two years till December 31, 2026. The purpose of this decision is to make Hyderabad pollution free.

You will get benefits on these electric vehicles
State Government Road tax and registration fees for electric two-wheelers, four wheelers, commercial passenger vehicles such as taxis, private cars, electric three-seater auto-rickshaws, electric light goods carriers including three-wheeler goods vehicles, electric tractors and electric buses. Will give 100% discount.
In case of electric buses, this discount will be applicable only for the entire lifetime of the electric vehicles run by Telangana State Road Transport Corporation.
EV sector will get a boost
Electric vehicles are known for green mobility, whereas petrol and diesel vehicles play a big role in spreading pollution. Therefore, the government wants to clean the city’s air by promoting them. Apart from this, the government wants to create employment opportunities by promoting the electric vehicle industry.
