After 17 years, it has surpassed a significant record previously held by Anushka Shetty’s Arundhati from 2009. The action drama, featuring Gulshan Devaiah as the antagonist, has emerged as the highest-grossing Telugu film led by a female actor.
Maa Inti Bangaaram premiered in theatres on June 19 and garnered positive feedback from audiences globally. The film is produced by Samantha’s production company, Tralala Moving Pictures, marking its second release following Subham in 2025.
Maa Inti Bangaaram breaks 17-year-old record
As per Sacnilk’s report, ‘s total worldwide gross is Rs 83.12 crore, with net collections of Rs 51.50 crore in India. On its opening Friday, the Telugu action drama earned Rs 5.62 crore, while on the 12th day, it collected Rs 1.90 crore. In 2009, Arundhati, a supernatural thriller featuring Anushka Shetty and directed by Kodi Ramakrishna, had a lifetime collection of Rs 70 crore worldwide, becoming one of the most successful films led by a female actor in Telugu cinema’s history.
Maa Inti Bangaaram sequel in the making?
During a success meet in Vizag, Raj Nidimoru, writer and co-producer, hinted at Maa Inti Bangaaram’s sequel. He mentioned, “I already have an idea in my mind. The same team will work on it. For the first time, I am inspired to create another installment. It will offer double the enjoyment and excitement. I will return to share more details later.”
Samantha, the lead of Maa Inti Bangaaram, is currently taking a break from her career due to her pregnancy. She will announce her next project following the birth of her and Raj’s first child.
