On this day itself, voting will be held on Scheduled Caste seats Mazgaon, Jagannathpur, Manoharpur, Chakradharpur, Ghatshila, Potka, Seraikela, Chaibasa, Kharsawan, Tamar, Torpa, Bishunpur, Simdega, Kolebira, Lohardaga Khunti, Mandar, Sisai, Gumla and Manika. Apart from this, voting will also be held in Scheduled Caste constituencies – Jugsalai, Kanke, Latehar, Simaria, Chatra and Chhatarpur on the same day.

Campaigning will stop 48 hours before voting

Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand, K Ravi Kumar said on Sunday that the election campaign work of the first phase will stop on Monday evening. Strict security arrangements have been made on the day of voting.

He said that in many assembly seats, voting will be held till 5 pm while in some polling stations, voting will be held till 4 pm. Accordingly, the election campaign will stop 48 hours before.

He said that with the end of the election campaign, no outsider can stay in the constituency. People from political parties will have to come out of the assembly constituency. If they are found in any assembly constituency even after the end of the election campaign, action will be taken against them.

Parties’ camps will not be held near religious places

He said that on Monday, arrangements have been made to send election personnel to 225 booths through helidropping in five districts Latehar, Lohardaga, West Singhbhum, Gumla and Garhwa.

He said that on the day of voting the camps are organized by the candidates near the polling stations. Prior permission will have to be taken from the Election Commission and this camp should be outside the radius of 200 meters from the polling station. There is a ban on camping at religious places or encroached places. There will also be a ban on putting up symbols, photos, flags, banners etc. related to the candidate in that camp.

Appealing to the voters, he said that they must bring their voter slip on the election day. He said that those who do not have Voter ID cards, they can vote with 12 types of valid other identity documents.
