ICC Rankings: THIS star batter replaces Abhishek Sharma as new No.1 T20I batter

ICC Rankings: Ishan Kishan has become the world’s No. 1 ranked T20I batter for the first time, ending teammate Abhishek Sharma’s year-long reign at the top of the ICC Men’s T20I rankings.

Kishan reached a career-best rating and moved ahead of Abhishek by just seven rating points.

The left-handed batter was one of India’s biggest stars in the tournament, scoring 317 runs at a strike rate of nearly 200. His match-winning knock against Pakistan in Colombo earned him the Player of the Match award and played a key role in helping him climb to the top of the rankings.

With this achievement, Kishan has become only the fourth Indian men’s batter to reach the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings, joining Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Abhishek Sharma.
