In a statement issued by the Central Government on Thursday, it has been said that under this project, the railway line will be doubled up to Darbhanga via Narkatiaganj, Raxaul and Sitamarhi in Bihar. Also, multi tracking facility will be developed between Sitamarhi and Muzaffarpur. This will further improve connectivity to Bihar and UP as well as West Bengal, Orissa and North East India. This will be an alternative route for North-East India.
