Sunita Ahuja reveals she chose Lock Upp as her reality TV debut for THIS reason

Sunita Ahuja has officially stepped into the  house, marking her reality show debut. In an exclusive conversation with mid-day, Sunita opened up about why she finally agreed to participate in a reality show, why she chose Ekta Kapoor’s show over several other offers, and what viewers can expect from her journey.

Despite entering one of television’s most unpredictable reality shows, Sunita says she isn’t carrying any game plan. “I don’t have any strategy because everyone knows who I am. I am an open book,” she says, adding, “I don’t listen to lies, I don’t lie. I’ll just enjoy the show.”

Rather than focusing on competition, says she’s looking forward to making memories inside the Lock Upp house. “I’m going to enjoy the show because I’ll meet new people, I’ll make new friends. I’ll laugh, I’ll play, I’ll enjoy,” she shares.

The biggest reason behind saying yes to Lock Upp, according to Sunita, is her equation with producer Ektaa Kapoor. “Because I love Ektaa a lot, that is why I did the show. And I wish people like me,” she says.

Sunita also revealed that her fans had been encouraging her to explore the reality television space for quite some time. “My big fans told me that Sunita is made for reality show. I think this was the best platform which I could do,” she says. Interestingly, Lock Upp wasn’t the first reality show to approach her. Sunita disclosed that she had received multiple offers before making her decision.

Why she chose Lock Upp over other reality shows

“This is true that I was offered a lot of reality shows Rise and Fall, The 50, Traitors, Alliance. But I did Lock Upp because I know Ektaa really loves me a lot. And I also love her a lot,” she says.

She also credits  for playing an important role in her son Yashvardhan Ahuja’s acting journey. “Ektaa has launched my son. Ektaa has given my son his first break,” she says, before adding with a smile, “She has given a break to my son as well as to his mother because in Yash’s movie, I am playing the role of a mother.”

Sunita says that trust was another reason she felt comfortable signing the show. “That’s why I decided to do Lock Upp. I don’t have any hard feelings for any other people because I felt that if I do Lock Upp, I will be taken care of properly,” she explains. When asked about the challenges awaiting her inside the jail-themed reality show, Sunita sounded completely unfazed. “I am not afraid of any task or situation. Truth or punishment, I don’t lie. I think I will do everything well. The rest depends on luck,” she concludes.

With no strategy, no pretence and plenty of confidence, Sunita Ahuja is entering Lock Upp hoping to entertain audiences simply by being herself.
