Tushar Kapoor is recognized as one of Bollywood’s versatile actors, making a mark in comedy, drama, and multi-starrer films. Known for his candidness, he recently shared insights on his new project, social media, politics, and the awareness of today’s youth. He emphasized that India is now more aware than ever, with social media playing a crucial role in alerting people to political and national issues.
While discussing his upcoming project, Tushar expressed his excitement, stating, “I am thrilled to bring something new to the audience once again. This is a special experience for me as I am returning to a similar role and environment after a long time. About 90% of the film is completed, but we still have 10 to 15 days of shooting left.”
He praised director Rohit Shetty, saying, “I consider myself very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Rohit Shetty multiple times. He is one of the most successful directors in the country. I have collaborated with him four times, and all four films have been blockbuster successes. Now, I hope to receive the same love from the audience for the fifth time.”
Tushar also shared his views on social media and politics. He noted, “In the past, our generation did not understand politics closely, but that has changed. Now, I pay attention to political debates and news discussions. I am aware of the politics in various states and the parties there. Social media and news platforms have made people more conscious. In India, people are starting to take politics seriously. Voter turnout is steadily increasing as people are stepping out to vote. Since 2014, awareness about politics has grown significantly. Previously, political discussions were rare in my family, but now my mother also follows political news.”
When asked about the perception that Gen Z does not take politics seriously, Tushar responded, “A large part of today’s youth is quite intelligent and aware. Many young people understand the country’s political situation well and express their opinions on it.”
He also addressed various trends and memes that go viral on social media, stating, “Some things are just trends or fads that circulate on the internet and shouldn’t be taken too seriously. I do not follow everything that goes viral on social media; I focus more on real news and important issues.”
