The first episode of Lock Upp 2 has been released. This Netflix reality show is hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan, and features Gaurav Khanna’s wife, Akansha Chamola, as a contestant.
Akansha made a major revelation in the very first episode, disclosing that she and Gaurav have decided to get a divorce. Farah was left stunned upon hearing this. Read on to find out what Akansha said.
Akanksha said, “Gaurav Khanna and I are getting a divorce. We have been living apart for the past year. People are not aware of this yet.” Akanksha added, “This is a decision taken by both of us. We have been discussing this for the last year.”
Akanksha stated clearly, “Things aren’t bad between Gaurav and me. We still talk to each other, but we feel that we aren’t right for one another as partners. This is because we both want different things in life.”
Akanksha said, “This has been going on since the time of Bigg Boss 19. Gaurav’s parents and mine suggested that we try staying apart for a while to see how things go. After all, you often realize each other’s importance when you are apart. Everyone assumed that since we were talking, appearing together on social media, and supporting each other at events, we would eventually get back together. But we just aren’t getting that ‘couple’ feeling.”
Gaurav and Akanksha have been married for nine years. It is worth recalling that on Bigg Boss 19, Gaurav revealed that his wife, Akanksha, did not want to become a mother. He had told Mridul, “I want to be a father, but my wife Akanksha isn’t ready for it. And her reasoning is absolutely valid. If I’m at work all day and she also has work, who would look after the child? We don’t want anyone else to care for our child. When I expressed my wish, she explained her perspective to me, and I understood her point of view.”
