Lucknow: Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday targeted the UP government over the alleged fake encounter and law-and-order situation. The attack by the SP chief on the state government came after a criminal carrying a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh was killed in an encounter in Jaunpur on Monday.
The BJP was quick to react and hit back at the SP chief, alleging a connection between criminals and the SP leadership.
Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday levelled a series of allegations against the UP government and said that the state government was carrying out encounters based on caste and targeting people from the PDA community. He alleged that the government was trying to intimidate the PDA community through fake encounters.
He further said that the state government was functioning on a policy of fake encounters and that such incidents could never bring investment to the state. He also alleged that the BJP was conspiring to carry out fake encounters in the state and said that people would lose faith if such incidents continued to take place.
The SP chief also showed a graph in which he re-shared his old social media posts questioning the state government over alleged fake encounters. He claimed that people from the PDA community were being targeted and that such encounters were being carried out to hide the failures of the state government.
BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi responding to the allegations of the SP chief said that whenever criminals are shot, it is Akhilesh Yadav who feels the pain and he has a connection with criminals and that’s why Akhilesh Yadav always hold a press conference whenever a criminal is shot. He should understand that people are satisfied when criminals are shot as it is really important to eradicate such elements from the society.
