Goa Blast Incident: Such a painful accident took place late on Saturday night in the famous nightclub ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ located in Arpora, Goa, which no one had even imagined. About 100 people were dancing to the DJ amidst music and shining lights. Then there was a huge explosion and the dancing people turned into a heap of dead bodies. Within a few minutes, 25 people had died, while 6 people were injured. Soon, instead of music, screams of death started echoing in the club.
From Goa CM to DGP on the spot
As soon as the news of the accident was received, a large number of police forces and fire department team reached the spot. After a lot of hard work, the fire brigade team brought the fire under control. Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and local MLA Michael Lobo reached the spot in the night itself. Giving information about the accident, Goa DGP Alok Kumar said that most of the dead included club employees. The tourists who died are being identified. The reason for the accident is being ascertained and strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.
Eyewitness told how dangerous the scene of the accident was
Fatima Shaikh, who had reached Goa from Hyderabad, was present at the nightclub ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ when the accident took place. He told that a weekend party was going on in the club on Friday night, more than 100 people were dancing on the dance floor. Everyone was enjoying the party, there were professional singers and dancers too. Then suddenly we saw smoke and flames, so we ran down and found the club staff already trapped there. The exit route was also narrow, due to which there was a huge stampede and some people fell down, but by then the fire had spread throughout the club. Within minutes the building was completely engulfed in flames. Where there were decorations with colorful lights and green trees, there was smoke and darkness. We were screaming for help, somehow I came out with the help of people. But the death of those who remained inside was so horrific that it gave goosebumps.
