Beekeeper gets international recognition with the help of Yogi government, New Zealand will provide global branding support

Barabanki’s ‘Beekeeper’ start-up has given a new direction to the youth entrepreneurship of UP. New Zealand and APEDA team appreciated its natural honey production technology and assured global branding. Government schemes gave international recognition to start-ups.

Lucknow. According to the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, young entrepreneurs and self-employment are being continuously encouraged in Uttar Pradesh. In this direction, the start-up ‘Dhumukhiwala’ run by entrepreneur Nimit Singh of Barabanki district has become an inspiring example of economic development and local employment in the state.

New Zealand delegation and APEDA visited the farm

On Saturday, New Zealand’s Primary Industries Ministry representative Ishan Jayawardene and APEDA Regional Head Sandeep Saha inspected the ‘Beekeeper’ farm located in Barabanki. He openly appreciated the method of beekeeping, modern technology and the process of honey production. The team also assured cooperation in global branding of the products and increasing sales in the international market.

Appreciation of natural honey production

The delegation described the natural honey production technology without heat, without adulteration and without chemicals as extremely effective. New Zealand representative Jayewardene said that this farm is technologically advanced as well as an excellent example of environmental protection and community development.

Assurance to increase international recognition of honey with different flavors

During the inspection, there was discussion on giving international branding to honey prepared from natural sources like mustard, multifloral, eucalyptus, celery, neem and jamun. ‘Beekeeper’ honeys, like New Zealand’s GI-tagged Manuka honey, were also assured of global recognition. During this, the Deputy Director and other officers of the Horticulture Department were also present. The representatives also gave suggestions to other beekeepers in the district to improve the quality of the product and increase export possibilities.

Nimit Singh’s journey: Beginning in 2014, today global recognition

Nimit Singh, founder of ‘Dhummakkhiwala’, started his work in 2014 from Rajauli village of Barabanki. He has made beekeeping a medium of both sustainable livelihood and community development.

Start-ups got big support from government schemes

Nimit Singh said that after 2017, he got direct benefits of better environment for start-ups in UP and many schemes of the government. These include-

  • CM Self Employment Scheme
  • CM Young Entrepreneur Scheme
  • horticulture department assistance
  • PMEME Scheme

These schemes strengthened his start-up and the products got national and global recognition.

Rashtrapati Bhavan honor and appreciation in ‘Mann Ki Baat’

Nimit Singh’s efforts have been honored earlier also. He was given the Governor’s Award at Raj Bhavan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned his start-up in ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

Selection in the proposed FTA with New Zealand will increase exports.

Nimit Singh said that his firm being selected for inspection under the proposed FTA of India-New Zealand is a big achievement for the honey producers of the entire state. This step will give a new direction to honey export, global branding and international sales. He said that this initiative will further strengthen cooperation in agriculture and honey production sector between India and New Zealand.
