India’s top 5 carmakers – Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Hyundai and Toyota – sold a total of 3,65,168 units in November 2025 as customers continued to pour into showrooms post the government’s restructring of the GSTsetup on passenger vehicles.
Passenger vehicles sales in November rose by 8.96% year-on-year, equal to 30,032 additional units across the five companies, compared to the 3,35,136 units sold in the same month in 2024. However, when compared to October 2025, November volumes declined by 4.29% month-on-month, a reduction of 16,385 units, which reflects the usual demand correction after the festive Dusshera-Diwali season.
1. Maruti Suzuki – 1,70,971 units

Maruti Suzuki, once again was the bestselling carmaker in the country last month, selling 1,70,971 units in November 2025. Maruti’s year-on-year numbers rose by 20.99%, an increase of 29,637 units, compared to the 1,41,334 units sold in November 2024. Maruti’s month-on-month sales numbers declined by 3.03%, down 5,347 units from the 1,76,318 units sold in October 2025.
2. Tata Motors – 57,436 units

Tata Motors took the second spot, selling 57,436 units in November 2025. Its year-on-year numbers rose by 22.04%, an increase of 10,373 units, compared to the 47,063 units, it sold in November 2024. Tata’s passenger vehicle sales declined 6.05% month-on-month, down 3,675 units from the 61,111 units sold in October 2025, during the festive Dusshera-Diwali period.
3. Mahindra – 56,336 units

SUV specialist Mahindra sold 56,336 passenger vehicles in November 2025 to take the final podium spot on the sales charts last month. Mahindra’s year-on-year metrics rose by 21.90%, an increase of 10,121 units, compared to the 46,215 units it sold in November 2024. Mahindra’s month-on-month sales numbers dropped by 5.59%, down 3,338 units from the 59,674 units it sold in October.
4. Hyundai – 50,340 units

South Korean carmaker Hyundai sold 50,340 units in November 2025 to take fourth spot. Hyundai’s year-on-year numbers were in the black, rising 4.5%, an increase of 2,190 units, compared to the 48,150 units sold in November 2024. However, Hyundai’s month-on-month sales numbers declined 5.01%, down 2,660 units from the 53,000 units sold in October 2025.
5. Toyota – 30,085 units

Japanese carmaker Toyota took the final spot on the list, accounting for 30,085 units in November 2025. Toyota’s year-on-year numbers rose by 19.5%, an increase of 4,919 units, compared to the 25,166 units the Japanese marque sold over the same period. a year earlier. Toyota’s month-on-month sales dropped by 4.34%, short 1,365 units from the 31,450 units it sold in October 2025.
November 2025 closed with higher year-on-year numbers for India’s five leading car manufacturers, even as month-on-month sales eased from October’s festive peak.
