After 78 years, the Prime Minister’s Office is shifting from South Block to the new building ‘Seva Tirtha 1’ in Central Vista. The offices of Cabinet Secretariat and NSA will also be in the new complex. The old South and North Block will be converted into ‘Bharat Museum’.
New Delhi. It will no longer be difficult to find the address of the Prime Minister of India’s office. For the last 78 years it was functioning from the South Block complex. But now the Prime Minister’s Office is shifting to a new building. PMO will soon shift to this new building built under the Central Vista Project. The Prime Minister’s Office will now function from the new building ‘Seva Tirtha 1’.
Kul ‘Seva Teerth’ Office
The Prime Minister’s Office will be housed in the Executive Enclave 1 building next to Vayu Bhawan. A total of three buildings have been constructed. Of these, ‘Seva Teerth 1’ will house the Prime Minister’s office. At the same time, there will be Cabinet Secretariat in ‘Seva Tirth 2’ and the office of National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval in ‘Seva Tirth 3’.
Names of many places were changed
Recently, the central government has changed the names of many things including government services, offices and roads. The most special was changing the name of Rajpath to Dutva Path. Now the name of the Raj Bhavan of the Governor of Delhi has been changed to ‘Lok Bhawan’. Similarly, many new names have been given to offices like ‘Seva Teerth’. The name of Central Secretariat has been changed to ‘Kartavya Bhawan’.
Ministries offices also in new building
The offices of many ministries have already shifted to the new building. Many ministries including Shastri Bhawan, Nirman Bhawan, Krishi Bhawan are now working from the new building. By naming the Secretariat Building ‘Kartavya Bhawan’, an attempt has been made to come out of the colonial thinking of the British period. Under the Central Vista Project, the historic South Block and North Block buildings are being converted into ‘Bharat Museum’.
