Bhopal: A husband killed his wife in anger after she asked him to find a job instead of playing mobile games for hours. Neha Patel (24), resident of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, was murdered by her husband Ranjit Patel. After strangulating his wife with a towel, the accused fled from the house. Ranjeet and Neha were married only for six months. Police said that Ranjeet was addicted to PUBG game. Investigating officers said that unemployed Ranjit used to spend hours playing mobile games, due to which there were frequent fights between the husband and wife.

After the murder, Ranjeet sent a message to Neha’s brother-in-law. It was written in the message that he had killed Neha and ‘take her back’. The family immediately reached the couple’s house. There he saw Neha lying without any movement. He immediately informed the police. Death was confirmed on the spot. DSP Udit Mishra said that a case has been registered. Police said that there were strangulation marks on the neck. The husband is absconding. Police said the statements of the relatives have been recorded and efforts are on to arrest the accused. Neha’s family also alleged that Ranjeet and his relatives were continuously demanding dowry. The family said that recently there was pressure being put on them demanding a car.

Family angry over accused not being caught

Brother Sher Bahadur Patel expressed his displeasure over the delay in arresting the accused – “My sister was married on May 25. The accused demanded dowry. He was not even going to any work recently. When my sister asked him to find a job, he quarreled and finally killed her. After committing the murder, he sent a message to a relative.”

The brother also demanded action against the family of the accused. “Not just the husband, but her father, mother, brother and sister-in-law should also be arrested. They all harassed her. She should get justice,” she said. Police said that investigation is going on and several teams have been deployed to trace the absconding accused. The body has been sent for postmortem.
