If buying a mid-sized SUV was on your bucket list this year, then it might be the perfect time, as several new launches have recently taken place and are due to happen in the coming weeks.
From the arrival of the all-new Tata Sierra to the upcoming launch of the new Kia Seltos, the mid-sized SUV segment is generating considerable buzz among car buyers in India. With the new-generation Kia Seltos set to launch on December 10, here are five key updates that we expect the new version to feature over the new design language that has been revealed in teaser visuals.
1. Panoramic Sunroof:
The teaser visuals clearly show that the new Seltos will continue to offer an electric panoramic sunroof, which is a favourite among premium SUV buyers.
2. All-New LED Lighting:
The major highlight of the new-gen Seltos redesign will be the all-new LED headlamp and taillamp units. Bringing the Seltos up to date with the rest of the lineup, we will see a new headlamp unit and signature LED DRLs on the front. At the rear, the connected LED taillamp setup will again feature Kia’s signature design language that we have earlier seen in Sonet and Syros SUVs.
3. 360-Degree Parking Camera:
Based on the teaser visuals, we can clearly see that the new Seltos will continue to get the 360-degree parking camera system. This is also a strong indicator of Level 2 ADAS safety features to continue in the new model. We expect Kia to add some new autonomous safety features to spruce things up.
4. New Alloy Wheel Design:
While the 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheel sizes will likely continue, Kia will launch the new SUV with completely redesigned wheels for the new generation. These will include both machine-cut and silver-finished alloy wheels based on the variant.
5. An All-New Cabin And Steering Wheel:
While Kia has yet to share any teaser visuals from inside the new Seltos, it will likely be a completely redesigned version. Expect the new-gen Double D-Cut steering wheel to take centre-stage, along with dual displays for driver information and infotainment. A touch panel for air-con controls could also debut in the Seltos and ventilated seats for the rear passengers could be a highlight for the second row.
