Incessant rains, strong winds and flood-like conditions due to Cyclone Ditvaah in Tamil Nadu have increased the problems of the people. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the next 24 hours, following which all schools and colleges have been ordered closed in Chennai, Tiruvallur and Kanchipuram districts today. The administration says that the situation may worsen, hence precaution is necessary. After warning of heavy rain, people are being appealed to stay in their homes, so that any kind of accident can be avoided. The state government and disaster management teams are continuously monitoring the situation.
