Skoda unveils flagship seven-seater electric SUV with up to 647km range

The Skoda Peaq has made its global debut as the Czech carmaker’s new flagship electric SUV, sitting at the top of the brand’s EV portfolio. The Peaq combines a seven-seat layout, long-range capability and a host of new technologies, while serving as Skoda’s electric counterpart to the Kodiaq.

Measuring 4,874mm in length with a 2,965mm wheelbase, the Peaq is not only the largest SUV in Skoda’s line-up but also the brand’s first entrant into the full-size electric SUV segment. The model will join the Epiq, Elroq and Enyaq in Skoda’s growing EV range.

Up to 647km range, AWD option available

The Peaq will be offered globally in three variants: 60, 90 and 90x with two battery pack options.

The entry-level Peaq 60 uses a 63kWh battery paired with a rear-mounted electric motor producing 204bhp. Skoda claims a WLTP range of 459km.

Stepping up to the Peaq 90 brings a larger 91kWh battery and a more powerful rear-wheel-drive setup generating 286bhp. This version delivers the longest claimed range of up to 647km.

Topping the range is the Peaq 90x, which combines the 91kWh battery with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 299bhp and offering a range of 613km.

The Peaq 90x is also the quickest variant, accelerating from 0-100kmph in 6.7 seconds. Fast-charging support of up to 199kW allows the larger battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in 28 minutes.

The SUV also introduces one-pedal driving, a next-generation heat pump for improved efficiency and bidirectional charging capability, allowing the vehicle’s battery to power external devices or feed energy back into a home grid.

Exterior design

The Peaq adopts Skoda’s latest Modern Solid design language, characterised by clean surfaces and minimalist styling. Up front, it features the brand’s gloss-black Tech Deck face, flanked by T-shaped LED Matrix headlights and distinctive DRLs.

In profile, the SUV gets aerodynamically optimised 19- to 21-inch alloy wheels, powered flush door handles and a streamlined silhouette that helps achieve a drag coefficient of just 0.249. At the rear, slim T-shaped LED tail-lights mirror the front lighting signature.

Notably, the Peaq is the first Skoda to feature powered flush door handles and a panoramic roof with Dynamic Shade Control technology.

Largest boot in a Skoda

The Peaq’s spacious cabin can accommodate up to seven occupants. With all three rows in use, boot capacity stands at 299 litres, while folding the third row expands luggage space to 935 litres, the largest claimed boot capacity of any Skoda model. A 37-litre front trunk further boosts practicality.

The dashboard is dominated by a new 13.6-inch vertically mounted touchscreen infotainment system, paired with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. Physical controls remain for frequently used functions such as climate settings, audio volume and hazard lights.

Sonos audio, wellness features and digital key

A major highlight is the debut of a 16-speaker Sonos premium sound system, co-developed and tuned specifically for the Peaq. Other features include dual 25W wireless phone chargers with magnetic positioning, USB charging ports across all three rows, a panoramic roof and an augmented reality head-up display.

The optional Relax Package transforms the Peaq into what Skoda describes as a “lounge on wheels”. It adds AGR-certified front seats with massage and ventilation functions, power-adjustable leg rests, front-seat pillows, foldable tables and a wellness app offering multiple relaxation and stretching modes.

The Peaq is also the first Skoda to support a digital key, enabling vehicle access through a smartphone or smartwatch.

Advanced safety and driver assistance

Safety equipment includes 10 airbags as standard, including rear side airbags and a centre airbag. The SUV comes equipped with Front Assist, Side Assist, Turn Assist and Crossroad Assist as standard.

Higher-spec versions can be fitted with Travel Assist 3.0, Skoda’s most advanced driver assistance package to date, along with Top Area View 360-degree cameras featuring transparent 3D visualisation and Intelligent Park Assist.

Skoda has not confirmed plans for the Peaq’s India launch, if introduced, it is likely to arrive as a fully imported CBU model, taking on premium electric SUVs such as the Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Volvo EX90.
