In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has transferred and reassigned several senior IPS officers across key positions in the state police force.
The most notable change sees Vishwas Nagre Patil, who was serving as Additional Director General of Police in the Anti-Corruption Bureau, appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Nagpur City. The incumbent commissioner, Ravinder Singhal, has been transferred to the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Senior IPS Officers Transferred
Several senior-level postings have also been revised. Sanjay Verma has been transferred as Director General of Police, Housing and Welfare Corporation, while Archana Tyagi has been posted as Director General of Judicial and Technical Police. Dattatreya Shinde has been elevated as Inspector General of Police in the State Crime Records Department, CID, Pune, and Sanjay Shintre has been appointed Additional Commissioner of Police in the Mira-Bhayander Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate.
At the field level, Prashant Mohite has been shifted from Deputy Commissioner of Police, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar City, to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai. Nilesh Rohen has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Nanded, while Abhinash Kumar moves from Nanded to Pune City as Deputy Commissioner of Police.
Shrimant Lad has been appointed Superintendent of Police, Hingoli, replacing Nilesh Rohen. Rupali Ambure has been transferred as Superintendent of Police, Maharashtra State Security Corporation. Shashikant Satav has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar City, while Ramesh Dhumal takes charge as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Nagpur City.
Among other changes, Piyush Jagtap has been appointed Additional Superintendent of Police, Khamgaon, Buldhana. Narayan Shirgaonkar has been transferred as Commander of SRPF Group No. 19, Ahilyanagar, and Pranjali Sonawane has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Amravati City.
The reshuffle is being viewed as a major administrative exercise aimed at strengthening policing and governance across key districts and commissionerates in Maharashtra.
