In the workshop of Horticulture and Sugarcane Department, farmers and scientists appreciated the development strategy of Yogi government. Goals of 2047, AI in agriculture, sugarcane taskforce, food processing policy and farmer facilities were discussed. Everyone took a pledge to make UP developed.
Lucknow. A workshop of stakeholders of Horticulture and Sugarcane Department was organized on Friday regarding the vision of Developed Uttar Pradesh, Smart Uttar Pradesh 2047. Farmers and scientists said in one voice that with the efforts of Yogi government, Uttar Pradesh will become the leading state of developed India. The farmers pledged that they too will continuously contribute to the prosperity of the state. Everyone praised the reforms being done by the government in the agriculture sector and said that UP is gradually becoming the power house of developed India. He said that other governments used to make only five-year plans, whereas the double engine government has prepared a comprehensive development roadmap by making short-term, medium-term and long-term strategies.
For the first time, a big target till 2047, farmers appreciated
Colonel Subhash Deshwal, a progressive farmer and carrot grower from Bulandshahr, said that till now only five-year plans were made, but for the first time the central and state governments have prepared a big plan for development till 2047. He said that the government has set milestones for different periods and now work is being done focusing on the goals. According to Deshwal, UP’s Food Processing Policy 2023 is the best and farmers should take maximum advantage of it. He said that if the impact of government policies increases, educated youth will also be increasingly attracted towards farming.
Need for AI in sugarcane and suggestion for formation of taskforce.
Dr. Priyanka Singh, Senior Scientist of Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane Research Council, Shahjahanpur, said that it is necessary to increase the use of AI in agriculture to achieve the target of 2047. He suggested that ‘Sugarcane Taskforce’ be formed for sugarcane cultivation. According to him, AI technology can help in improving soil quality and prevent excessive use of water and fertilizers. He said that this technology should reach every farmer so that productivity can increase. Dr. Priyanka expressed the need to emphasize on organic and organic fertilizers along with chemical fertilizers and said that capacity building of farmers is necessary from time to time. He suggested that research institutes, farmers and sugar mills should work together so that better research comes out.
Both farming and family prosper due to government facilities.
Udit Narayan Verma, a progressive farmer from Bahraich, who cultivates sugarcane, wheat and paddy, says that the government is improving the future by enriching the present. He said that the government is providing fertilizers, seeds and subsidies on time, which has made farming easier and has also increased the family income. He said that the state is progressing rapidly due to the joint hard work of the government and farmers.
Yogi government’s policies are the best – farmers’ opinion
Himanshu Verma, a farmer from Alinagar Mohammadi in Lakhimpur Kheri, said that the policies of the Yogi government are the best for farming and farmers. They get guidance, benefits of schemes and subsidies from the department from time to time, which has increased new possibilities in farming. He said that the government is making serious efforts to make UP developed by 2047 and is also paying special attention to increasing the income of farmers.
