Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is reportedly preparing to marry for the third time on July 5, reaching a significant milestone in his personal life. His new partner is Gauri Spratt.
The personal life of this veteran actor, who captivated audiences through highly popular films like Dil Chahta Hai, Lagaan, 3 Idiots, and Dangal, has consistently drawn media attention due to two previous long-term marriages, each lasting 16 years, amicable divorces, and successful co-parenting arrangements. The registration marriage ceremony, scheduled to take place at his Mumbai residence on a very private level, will only be attended by close family members and a few friends, with no high-profile party organized for the occasion.
Speaking to media outlets including Variety India, Aamir Khan confirmed the marriage, stating that the public should not be unduly interested in his personal life but rather in his creative work.
Aamir Khan’s new partner, Gauri Spratt, is a successful entrepreneur born in Bangalore, involved in the fashion, modeling, and beauty industries. Having known each other for many years, their romantic relationship began in 2024, and she has a young son from a previous marriage. Aamir Khan, who refers to her as a blessing who brought peace into his life, has stated that he is already married to her in his heart. The new couple plans to move into a new home after the marriage, and Aamir Khan is also preparing for his upcoming cinematic project, the Mahabharata project.
Aamir Khan’s first marriage was on April 18, 1986, to Reena Dutta. At the time, Aamir, aged 21, and Reena, aged 19, eloped and secretly got married. Reena, who contributed to the production of the film Lagaan, and Aamir have a son, Junaid Khan, who is an actor, and a daughter, Ira Khan, who is an assistant director. After 16 years of marriage, they divorced in 2002 due to personal differences and Aamir’s busy film career, with Reena gaining custody of the children. However, they continue to maintain high respect for each other and amicably co-parent for their children’s well-being.
His second marriage was to filmmaker Kiran Rao, who worked as an assistant director on the film Lagaan, on December 28, 2005. The couple had a son, Azad Rao Khan, through surrogacy in 2011, and they also collaborated professionally on social welfare programs like the Paani Foundation. After being married for over 15 years, they issued a joint statement in July 2021, announcing their very amicable separation, and to this day, they continue to work closely for their son without any public animosity.
Aamir Khan maintains a very close relationship with both his ex-wives, and recently, during Ira Khan’s wedding ceremony and Eid celebrations, Reena, Kiran, and Gauri were seen together through the media. Believing that separation is a natural evolution of relationships rather than a failure, Aamir Khan’s third marriage has received support from industry leaders such as veteran actresses Rakhee Gulzar and Suchitra Krishnamoorthi. A positive discussion has already emerged in society, stating that there is nothing wrong with getting married at the age of 60 and that this decision is a very brave step.
