After winning the Asia Cup 2025 under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian team has now made a strong start in another Asia Cup. India registered a big victory in its very first match of Group B in the Asia Cup Rising Star Tournament, which started from November 14 in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Under the captaincy of Jitesh Sharma, Team India defeated UAE by 148 runs. The star of the Indian team’s victory was 14-year-old star Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who scored a record-breaking century in just 32 balls. Whereas the entire UAE team scored almost as many runs as Vaibhav and lost badly.
Vaibhav’s century, Jitesh also scored
Before the important match against Pakistan on Sunday 16 November, the Indian team gave a strong performance against UAE. It was started by young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has become a worldwide hit. After getting life on the very first ball of the match, Vaibhav thrashed the UAE bowlers and scored a half-century in just 17 balls. Continuing his attack further, Vaibhav scored a record-breaking century in just 32 balls.
Vaibhav seemed to be in such form that he could have completed a double century but he was caught near the boundary in the 13th over. Vaibhav played an amazing inning of 144 runs (15 sixes, 11 fours) in just 42 balls. After Vaibhav, captain Jitesh Sharma continued this style and scored unbeaten 83 runs (8 fours, 6 sixes) in just 32 balls, taking the team to 297 runs in 20 overs.
Gurjapanit falls heavily on UAE
Such a big score would have been difficult for any team to chase but for UAE it looked impossible from the beginning. Fast bowler Gurjapaneet Singh (3/18) sealed it by taking 2 wickets in the fourth over itself. UAE had lost 5 wickets for 83 runs and it remained to be seen how many runs the team would be able to score. This team definitely played its entire 20 overs but its score was almost equal to Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s innings. On the basis of Shoaib Khan’s inning of 63 runs, UAE scored only 149 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs, which was only 5 runs more than Vaibhav’s score.
