The left-handed batter couldn’t play a big knock and departed for 12 off 27 balls. He hit three fours in his knock. He went past Sachin despite being dismissed early.
Yashasvi is now ahead of Sachin in the list of Indian batsmen with the most runs after Test innings. The India opener has 2450 runs in 50 innings.
Sachin, the highest run-scorer in the history of Test cricket, had 2415 runs after 50 innings in red-ball cricket. He finished his Test career as the highest run-scorer. The Master Blaster scored 15921 runs in 200 Tests.
Gautam Gambhir tops the list of Indian batsmen with the most Test runs after 50 innings. The India head coach had 2692 runs in his account after 50 outings. He is followed by Rahul Dravid, who had 2540 runs.
Gambhir finished his Test career with 13288 runs. He is one of the two Indian batsmen with more than 10000 runs in two formats. Gambhir scored 4154 runs in 58 Tests he played.
