Maruti Suzuki eVitara India Launch Date, Battery And Range Details Confirmed

The Indian EV landscape has grown multi-fold over the last few years, with both domestic and international manufacturers entering the space with attractive offerings across budget-friendly and premium segments.

From micro-electric cars to feature-loaded electric MPVs and high-end luxury EVs, India has a healthy crop of EVs on sale in 2025. However, the country’s largest carmaker has been missing the action up till now but not for much longer.

After much anticipation, the Maruti Suzuki eVitara is now confirmed for its India launch on December 2, 2025. The eVitara will mark Maruti Suzuki’s entry into the growing electric car segment and also add another feather to the OEM’s alternative fuel cap. Maruti Suzuki already offers multiple car models across petrol, CNG and strong hybrid drivetrains and the eVitara is expected to bring EV buyers into the fold as well. The electric SUV is also part of Maruti Suzuki’s strategy to recapture 50 percent passenger vehicle market share by 2030. The carmaker plans to launch 8 new cars and invest Rs 70,000 crore as part of its renewed strategy. With the eVitara setting the stage, let’s have a look at its key features and specifications ahead of the launch.

1. Maruti Suzuki eVitara Design Highlights:

The upcoming eVitara is a ground-up battery electric vehicle (BEV) that gets practical mid-sized SUV dimensions and is aimed at appealing to the mass EV market. The front gets a pair of sharp-looking LED headlamps with 3-point Matrix LED DRLs. The side profile is accentuated with 18-inch alloy wheels designed to be aerodynamically efficient. The rear also gets LED taillamps and overall the exterior design looks organic and well-proportioned.

2. New eVitara Cabin Design And Features:

The cabin of Maruti Suzuki’s first electric car is also designed to set a new benchmark in the portfolio. It si designed to be spacious, gets a dual tone theme and a twindeck floating centre console. Other cabin highlights include features like the digital cockpit with dual screens, a fixed glass sunroof and multi-colour ambient lighting.

3. 2025 Maruti Suzuki eVitara Specifications:

The eVitara is based on the carmaker’s HEARTECT-e platform that is capable of accommodating the heavy battery pack and eAXLE integration. The eAXLE system integrates the motor, inverter and reduction gear into a 3-in-1 system for better performance and efficiency.

Once launched in India, the eVitara will be available in a 61 kWh battery pack option. The estimated range for the bigger battery version is 500 km on a full charge. However, the India-spec would probably miss out on the AWD dual-motor version and would get a front-wheel-drive setup with a single eAXLE instead.

The all-new Maruti Suzuki EV will also score high in safety as it will come armed with a Level 2 ADAS safety suite and a bunch of active safety features such as ABS, EBD, ESC and more. Another highlight in the eVitara will be the 7 Airbags for passenger safety, including the driver knee airbag. A first for the brand.

The new eVitara EV will be available in 10 different colours with four dual-tone options. These would include shades such as the Nexa Blue, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Bluish Black, Opulent Red and Land Breeze Green.
