How did Maithili become a folk singer?

Maithili Thakur, born on July 25, 2000, is a resident of Benipatti in Madhubani district of Bihar. He inherited music, but the way he presented it made Maithili a household name. His father Ramesh Thakur is a music teacher. Maithili along with her two brothers learned music under the guidance of her father and grandfather.

Since childhood, Maithili received training in both folk and Indian classical music. Growing up amidst a musical environment helped him develop a deep understanding of traditional music styles, which has now become his identity. With his fan following on social media, lakhs of people come to listen to him in programs.

Maithili has also received youth award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Women’s Day.
