The results of Bihar assembly elections have come. The public has once again expressed its confidence in the NDA alliance led by Nitish Kumar. It is clear from the trends that NDA is getting lead in more than two-thirds of the seats, which is a resounding victory. But amidst the noise of these election results, only one question is biggest in the minds of crores of farmers of the country, when will the 21st installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan) come?

This question is also important because the help of ₹ 2000 that farmers get every four months is very important for them. The last installment came in August 2025. According to the rules, the next installment should be released in October 2025. But, many times the installments get delayed. But this time the government had a different reason for the delay.

Recently the Central Government itself had clarified the situation. The government has revealed that lakhs of farmers had also registered for the scheme, who were not eligible under the existing guidelines. All these wrong applications have now been marked as suspicious. Due to which the installment is getting delayed.

Do this work, otherwise you will not get money

To get PM-Kisan money, it is necessary to update eKYC i.e. Electronic Know Your Customer. The government has made it mandatory for the proper operation of the scheme. If your e-KYC is not updated, your installment may get stuck. Farmers can accomplish this in two ways.

  1. OTP based eKYC: Farmers themselves can complete it on PM-Kisan portal.
  2. Biometric eKYC: For this one has to go to the nearest Common Service Center (CSC).

Additionally, the Department of Agriculture has recently identified a number of cases that do not meet the eligibility criteria of the scheme. In these cases the amount has been temporarily withheld. The main reasons for the investigation by the Agriculture Department are as follows:

  1. Eligibility Verification: Cases involving land purchase or ownership after February 1, 2019 are being closely scrutinized.
  2. Two beneficiaries in a family: In cases where the installment is coming in the name of both husband and wife or an adult and a minor in the family, the installment has been put on hold till the physical verification is completed.

Therefore, farmers are advised to immediately check their eligibility status on PM-Kisan website, mobile app or Kisan e-Mitra chatbot.

Farmers of these states have already received the 21st installment

While most of the farmers of the country are waiting for the 21st installment, in some states this assistance amount has already been released to the farmers. This was done so that the farmers affected by the natural disaster could get immediate relief.

  1. Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab: In view of the damage caused due to heavy rains and landslides in these states in September 2025, the 21st installment has already been released to the farmers.
  2. Jammu and Kashmir: The installment was also released to the farmers here on 7 October 2025.

When will the 21st installment money arrive?

Now the biggest question is when will the 21st installment (PM Kisan 21st Instalment) come? The government has not yet announced any official date for the release of the installment. It has been clearly stated in the reports that the installment will be released only when this nationwide verification process is completed. According to media reports, the money can come into the account by the end of this month.
