Not 1, 2, so many welfare schemes run in Bihar, you can avail benefits like this

Bihar government scheme

At present, everyone’s eyes are on the political arena of Bihar. Almost all the exit polls released for the assembly elections are telling the same story – the NDA alliance led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) seems to be getting a clear lead. At the same time, the grand alliance of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress is currently shown lagging behind in these estimates. There was also speculation about strategist Prashant Kishor’s party ‘Jan Suraj’, who entered the election season for the first time, but according to the poll, he may have to be satisfied with only two-three seats at most.

However, it is important to remember that exit polls are only an estimate, not the final result. Many times it has been seen that the actual results are completely different from these estimates. What is the real mandate of Bihar will be decided only by the official results coming by this evening.

But amidst all this election noise and victory and defeat, the real issue is one which is directly related to your and our lives. Governments keep coming and going, but what are those schemes that have the power to change the destiny of the people of Bihar? We are telling you about those major welfare schemes running in Bihar, which common citizens can directly avail.

Emphasis on shaping the future of youth

A major focus of the Bihar government has been on educating and empowering the youth of the state. Many plans are going on for this.

  1. Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme: This scheme is a great support for students dreaming of higher education. If a student wants to pursue studies like BA, B.Sc., B.Tech or MBBS after 12th, then an education loan of up to ₹ 4 lakh is provided at very low interest rates with the guarantee of the government.
  2. Hostel facility: “Other Backward Class Welfare Hostels” are being run in 38 districts of the state. OBC students living in these not only get free accommodation, but are also given assistance of ₹ 12,000 per year and 15 kg of free grains (rice-wheat) every month. There is also a similar “Jan-Nayak Karpuri Thakur Kalyan Hostel Scheme”, in which students get a grant of ₹ 1000 per month and food grains.
  3. Incentives and Scholarships: Many steps have also been taken to encourage smart children in studies. At the same time, under the “Mukhyamantri Extremely Backward Class Merit Scholarship Scheme”, one-time financial assistance is given to extremely backward class students who get first division in matriculation.

Steps towards economic self-reliance

The government’s efforts are not limited to education only, but are also aimed at making youth and women stand on their own feet.

  1. Chief Minister Mahila Rojgar Yojana: This scheme is especially to make women self-reliant. Under this, eligible women are first given financial assistance of ₹ 10,000 to start their work. Later, if they want to set up their own business, they are also provided additional financial help up to ₹2 lakh.
  2. Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme: This scheme is for those families who want to start some small business of their own. Under this, direct financial assistance of up to ₹ 2 lakh is given to the identified families to create self-employment opportunities.
  3. Unemployment Allowance: For the youth who are looking for a job after education, there is “Mukhyamantri Nishchay Swayam Sahayata Allowance Scheme”. Such unemployed youth aged between 20 to 25 years are given an allowance of ₹ 1,000 every month for a maximum of two years during the employment search period.

Social security and basic facilities to every class

A large part of the welfare schemes focuses on providing basic facilities to every section of the society and providing social security to the needy.

  1. Basic needs: Through the “Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal” scheme, clean drinking water is being supplied through pipelines to rural and urban areas of the state. Along with this, it has also been announced to provide up to 125 units of free electricity every month to all domestic consumers from August 1, 2025, which can be a big relief.
  2. Social Pension and Assistance: Under “Lakshmi Bai Social Security Pension Scheme”, monthly pension is given to all widow women above 18 years of age whose family income is low. Similarly, under the “National Family Benefit Scheme”, if the main earning member of the family dies, immediate financial assistance is provided to the grieving family.
  3. Initiative for farmers also: To increase the income of fish farmers, “Renovation of Private Ponds” scheme is being run, in which fish farmers can take government assistance for expansion or renovation of their ponds.

The political picture of Bihar will be completely clear by this evening, but these plans are not the result of a single day. These are the initiatives which are going on continuously and whose aim is to make the life of the common man easier and better. Irrespective of whose government is formed, as an aware citizen, it is your right and need to be aware of these schemes.
