In Uttar Pradesh, old age pension will now start sitting at home. On completion of 60 years, the government will take consent directly by calling and will link the pension process with the family ID. More than 15 important decisions including this proposal can be approved in Friday’s cabinet meeting.
Lucknow’s morning today was not ordinary, but full of expectations. This day can bring relief for thousands of elderly people because the government is going to implement a system that will make the life of the elderly people of the state easier than before. The compulsion of repeatedly visiting offices for pension is going to end and this facility will be provided to the elderly at their homes.
Facility will start with phone call, old age pension will be available as soon as consent is received.
The state government is preparing to completely simplify the process of old age pension. Now, as soon as the beneficiary completes the age of 60 years, the concerned department will call the beneficiary and will be asked whether he wants to take old age pension or not. On getting consent, pension will be started directly after completing a simple process.
This scheme is being implemented by linking it with the Family ID system so that eligibility can be automatically confirmed and the elderly do not face any kind of problem.

Approval may be given in today’s cabinet meeting
This proposal may be approved in the cabinet meeting to be held on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. More than 15 proposals are likely to be discussed and approved in the meeting. After the cabinet, the Chief Minister will also hold a special meeting with the ministers.
Big decisions related to industry and development are also on the agenda.
Many big proposals are being brought with the aim of accelerating the industrial growth of the state-
- Proposal to amend the pledge scheme
- Proposal to give more land to Ashok Leyland in Lucknow: Currently 70 acres of land has been given, additional land can be approved.
- Decision to return the earnest money given to JP Group in exchange of land
- Proposal to increase sugarcane price
- Proposal to establish Swami Shukdevanand University in Shahjahanpur
Approval can also be given on these proposals
Many important proposals related to structural changes and promotions in government departments are also included-
- Proposal for promotion of Kanungo Peon (Chainman) of Revenue Department to the post of Accountant
- Exemption in stamp duty and registration fees on tenancy leases up to ten years
- Formation of Directorate of Food Processing
- Exemption in car loan scheme for judicial and higher judicial service officers
- Amendment in PWD Engineer Service Manual
- State Property Department proposes to purchase new vehicles in place of auctioned vehicles.
- Proposal for upgradation of 156 posts and division of 446 posts in Allahabad High Court.
Along with this, the annual report of 2019-20 of the three-tier Panchayati Raj institutions can be presented in the Legislature.
Preparation for major changes in the state
Today’s cabinet meeting can pave the way for many such decisions that will directly affect not only the elderly, but also farmers, industries, administrative staff and people associated with judicial services.
