Bihar Assembly elections WINNERS list 2025: Check Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) winning MLA candidates: The Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United), or JDU, is expected to emerge as the single largest party in Bihar, with exit polls indicating that the NDA alliance is likely to form the next government.

According to the projections released after the second phase of voting, the JDU may win 67 to 75 seats with around 20 per cent of the total vote share.

In this election, both JDU and BJP contested 101 seats each under the NDA alliance, a first in Bihar’s political history. Traditionally, JDU has contested more seats than the BJP. For example, in 2020, JDU contested 115 seats, while BJP fought 110. However, that year, BJP performed better, winning 74 seats, compared to JDU’s 43.

Overall, the NDA is projected to retain power with a total of 147 to 167 seats. The Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is expected to secure 70 to 90 seats. Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj may get zero to two seats, and Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM could win two to three. Smaller parties together might capture up to five seats.
