Sathya Sai Baba: Baba of Shirdi or Miraculous Baba of Puttaparthi, who is worshiped by the devotees in which form?

Sai Baba teachings: The holy land of India has been the birthplace of saints and great men. Here many saints have shown the right direction to humanity through their divine deeds and miracles. The two most prominent names among them are Sai Baba of Shirdi and Satya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi. Both were famous for miracles and service works in their respective times. Devotees believe that Sathya Sai Baba was the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba. Now preparations are in full swing for the birth centenary celebrations of Satya Sai Baba, in which the President and Prime Minister of the country are going to participate.

President and Prime Minister will attend the birth centenary celebrations of Satya Sai Baba

Satya Sai Baba was born on 23 November 1926 in Puttaparthi village of Andhra Pradesh. He dedicated his entire life to social service, education and human welfare. He died on 24 April 2011, but the ashrams and institutions established by him are still serving humanity.

On the occasion of his birth centenary celebrations, the country’s President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate. Prime Minister Modi will reach Puttaparthi on November 19, while President Murmu will attend the ceremony on November 22. Lakhs of devotees from India and abroad are expected to attend this event to be held in Sri Satya Sai district.

Who was Shirdi Sai Baba?

Shirdi Sai Baba is believed to be born in 1838 in Shirdi, Maharashtra. He worked to connect both Hindu and Muslim traditions. The basic message of his teachings was that everyone has one master. Sai Baba spent his life serving the needy, spreading spiritual knowledge and love-goodwill. Countless stories of his miracles and compassion are still popular among devotees. He attained Samadhi in 1918, and today his shrine in Shirdi is one of the largest pilgrimage sites in the country.

Satya Sai Baba: Considered to be the incarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba

Sathya Sai Baba himself had said that he was the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba. He told in his sermons that the aim of Shirdi Sai Baba was to awaken devotion and love of God among the people, whereas his (Satya Sai) aim is to take humanity on the path of progress through service and education. His life also reflects this, he established many universities, hospitals, drinking water projects and social institutions. The Sathya Sai Institute started by him is still providing free medical treatment, education and food to millions of needy people.

The message of both the saints is the same, service to humanity is service to God.

Shirdi Sai Baba said

Helping others is the greatest religion.

Whereas Satya Sai Baba said

Love All, Serve All, Love All, Serve All.

The teachings of both the saints have similar values of love, compassion and surrender. This is the reason why even today millions of devotees in India and around the world consider both of them to be two forms of the same divine power.
